Vintage Township / Developer Bio

Paul Stell is the CEO of Stellar Development Company, a Lubbock-based real estate investment and development company with a focus on new urbanism, smart growth projects and traditional neighborhoods. Currently, Stellar is developing a 320-acre master planned Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) in southwest Lubbock called Vintage Township.

After touring and researching 103 traditional neighborhoods in 27 different states, a new vision became clear to Paul. Stellar Development was to build more than just a new subdivision; they wanted to build a community – a township.

The traditional architecture of the homes in Vintage Township creates distinctive and beautiful streets to call home. Styles range from Louisiana French, Greek, Gothic, Colonial, Craftsman, Victorian and other unique styles.

Vintage supports a non-profit corporation – The Vintage Institute – that was created to promote culture and community throughout the town. Numerous events, clubs and organizations are the end results, making socializing with neighbors happen regularly.

A mixed-use environment creates a place where someone could easily live and work in the community. The 2009 Parade of Homes debuts Market Hall – our first mixed-use building. Market Hall is 100% pre-sold and offers ground floor retail such as the Vintage Corner Market and professional office condominiums on its second and third floors.

Stellar wanted a neighborhood that created lasting value - not just by higher property values for your home, but more importantly by the relationships, experiences and memories that each family will enjoy for a lifetime.

Paul knew that in order to bring this vision to fruition, he would need the best talent in the industry – professionals who had been involved in other successful Traditional Neighborhoods. Selecting only professionals considered among the top three in their industry, the team worked to create a master plan and a design code for the neighborhood.

Once this initial foundation of design and planning was complete, it became imperative to not only have an elite group of national consultants, but also an in-house team of experts to move the mission forward. Robin Hall is responsible for development and construction; Tana Patterson and Bryan Blizel are responsible for home sales; Julie Cordero and Kevin Rhoads are responsible for marketing; and Susie Stell is the Executive Director for the Vintage Institute.

Stellar’s commitment is to creating the best place to live, work and play in Lubbock.
