Greetings:

It is my privilege to welcome you to what has become one of Lubbock’s best known traditions. The 2009 Parade of Homes promises to continue to offer something for everyone at 3 new sites: Verrado Estates, Vintage Township, and Cooper Ridge. What a great variety of homes to see!

I can still remember the first Parade of Homes I attended. I don’t really like thinking of how many years ago that has been. It was the first time I became aware of many of the builders featured in that Parade, some of whom are still building in this year’s Parade. Not only did the builders make a great first impression on me, I can still remember many of the features of the homes I saw.

I know I’m not alone in realizing how significant our Parade of Homes truly are. I have no doubt you too will remember the 2009 Parade of Homes for many years to come. I sincerely hope you have as much fun as we have in creating the shared experience. You will meet many of my friends. And you’re going to see why I’m so proud to be a member of the West Texas Home Builders Association.

Each year our Parade Committee chooses what they consider to be a worthy charity to receive a good portion of the funds we raise through our ticket sales. This year the Committee, chaired by Robert Wood, chose to partner with the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge Lubbock, a free, 24 hours a day, seven days a week temporary residential facility, that offers a home away from home for cancer patients and their caregivers while they receive outpatient treatment. I want to congratulate Robert and his committee for their choice of a very worthy cause.
