Steve Ropes and Bill Leavell / Bio

Homestead Building Tradition was established to build quality homes with old-fashioned craftsmanship combined with modern techniques and style. The founders based the company on the Bible verse, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it,” Psalm 127:1.

Steve Ropes, with more than 20 years experience in residential and commercial construction, oversees each step of the building process. Bill Leavell joined Steve after 30 years in banking and investing to manage the Homestead office.  Their knowledge of the construction industry assures that every home bought from Homestead will have a livable design with exceptional quality.

Homestead has the ability to build a home from plans already completed or to assist in the design phase of each home by utilizing the company’s plan drafting resources. Visit www.homesteadbt.com or call Steve at 806-778-0427 or Bill at 806-789-1599.

Homestead Building Traditions / Home Descriptions

Homestead Building Tradition kept family living in mind during the development of this beautiful two-story Louisiana French home. It offers three bedrooms, three baths, an office, a butler’s pantry, a formal dining area and a basement theater. A beautiful fireplace warms the open kitchen and living area. The well-planned floor space and large corner lot make the home seem much larger than 2600 square feet.

The many windows, doors and the extra large patio all appear to extend the living area and master bedroom. Porches on the front of the first and second floors add an additional 480 square feet of outdoor living area.

The master bedroom overlooks the patio and has a boxed ceiling. The connecting master bath includes an airflow soaking tub, a separate shower, double sinks and a large closet. At the top of the grand staircase, two large bedrooms overlook the porch and share a bath with a shower/tub.

The rich hardwood floors, warm tile, carpet and granite envelop this house with a feeling of luxury. The tall ceilings, arches and special crown moldings showcase Homestead’s craftsmanship. Custom cabinets add designed beauty and convenience throughout the home.

Adding to the comfortable and beautifully crafted house are a zoned air conditioning system and foam insulation as well as many energy efficient building techniques that Homestead Building Tradition is proud to use in many of its custom designed homes.

Efficient living is the goal of this Homestead Building Tradition three-bedroom, two-bath, one-story home. The warm interior living areas with views of the beautiful patio make the home feel larger than its 1765 square foot size.

Entering from the cozy front porch, the many details of this well planned home entice you to explore every corner. An arched opening takes you from the wonderful living area with spectacular fireplace into the dining room and kitchen - all with outdoor views. Notice the built-in bookcases, desk and custom cabinets throughout.

The courtyard expands the living and dining areas of the home. The fountain cools the area in the summer and invites the residents to use the area for dining and relaxing.

A hallway separates two bedrooms and the guest bath from the main living area. Any of these rooms could also be utilized as an office or playroom.

The master bedroom has a boxed ceiling and beautiful views of the outdoor living area. The master bath includes a custom tiled shower, an airflow soaking tub, separate sinks and a wonderful closet with built-in storage.

Conveniently located close to the master suite and kitchen are the mudroom, utility room and garage. Notice the exceptional storage that complements the kitchen’s well planned custom cabinets and pantry.

Throughout the home are beautiful moldings, granite countertops, hardwood floors and custom cabinets that are to be expected in a home built by Homestead Building Tradition.
