Builder Tysen Mortensen

Tysen Mortensen is entering his seventh year in residential construction and is proudly building his premier home for the West Texas Home Builders Association 2007 Parade of Homes.

Tysen is a native of southern Colorado. He grew up on a small farm/ranch in the heart of the Rocky Mountains where he learned the benefits of hard work and the satisfaction that comes from a job well done.

After graduating from high school, Tysen served on a two-year mission for his church in Mexico City where he became fluent in Spanish. After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Danette. He and his family moved to Lubbock so that he could attend Texas Tech University before moving into the construction industry. Tysen and Danette have two children.
